Yes it's true, Microsoft have scooped LinkedIn for a massive 26.2 billion, thee largest technology purchase this year. LinkedIn the Business Social Media network which is used by many recruiters as the number one head hunting tool for talent is now officially a Microsoft entity.
It's hard to fathom that Microsoft paid more for LinkedIn than they did for Skype ($8.5 billion) but they do seem to be trying to sow up the online communication market in all it's variances. This deal although mind blowing seems to be extremely strategic in terms of Microsoft becoming a large player in offering Enterprise Software Services, rather than go on to purchase Salesforce which has a 55 billion dollar price tag they opted to buy LinkedIn which hasn't had strong profitable margins recently albeit a big player in this industry, this is a clear statement on the direction Microsoft want to go on.
